Our principal areas of work are Criminal Law, Motoring, Human Rights,Children's Law; Education and Employment Law. We undertake private client work but currently still accept work under the Legal Aid scheme.
We undertake the full range of criminal defence work as a major service supplier. We have been involved for the defence in the major terrorism trials of the last few years, including Operation Crevice (fertiliser plot), the Glasgow Airport bomb plot and the 21/7 trials and have successfully defended SFO prosecution. We are in the MoJ list of the top ten suppliers of publicly funded criminal defence services in London and among the twenty largest suppliers nationally. According to one published review there 'is an air of excitement' when members of our team are in court.
The Family team specialises in Child Care law and private law cases headed by Joy Merriam, a specialist advocate in Childcare cases who also has higher rights of audience in the Criminal Courts.
Our Education Dept is a private client specialist service run by experts in their field who are noted members of the Education Law Association.Jaswinder Gill is an expert in Higher Education. Ian Dowty is a Barrister with longstanding expertise in Home Education.
